Bayern Munich vs Man City final score , highlights and reaction as Laporte seals victory for Pep's men

Manchester City beat Bayern Munich 2-1 in their second of three preseason friendlies today in Tokyo.

Manchester City faced Bayern after an enthralling 5-3 win over Yokohama on Sunday . Pep Guardiola employed two completely different outfield teams in each half against Yokohama and went for the same  approach at halftime against Bayern.

Kevin De Bruyne resumed full training yesterday but did not play. He missed the Yokohama victory due to a hamstring injury that was exacerbated in the Champions League final, despite being named on the bench the previous weekend.

Despite ongoing conversations between Man City and Bayern Munich over a possible deal, Kyle Walker captained the team once more. Guardiola said on Tuesday that, while he wants his 'irreplaceable' full-back to stay and will fight for it, he does not know whether Walker will stay at City or join Bayern before the transfer window closes.

Kyle Walker contributed to the first goal by sliding a pass through to Rico Lewis, who set up Julian Alvarez to fire. Yann Sommer, who could not get the ball out of his premise led to McAtee kicking  the ball over the line.

Although James McAtee scored his first senior  goal  for City, he was more concerned with his overall performance today.

"It's good to get my first goal. I didn't affect the game as much but I am happy to get a goal."

Prior to the game, Sane had tested his skill against his former team, and Ederson saved wonderfully with his boot when Kinglsey Coman shot goalwards in the 41st minute after a sumptuous pass from the German .

France Under-19 striker Mathys Tel scored to equualize the scoreline for the German side on the 81st minute.

When he failed to gather Paul Wanner's attempt from Frans Kratzig's low cross, the Brazil goalkeeper will have been even less pleased with his contribution to Bayern's equalizer.

A chaotic second half as a spectacle was aided by wholesale substitutions, but Oscar Bobb, Perrone, and Foden connected superbly for the winner. Sven Ulrich saved Foden's eventual effort, but the England international touched the ball towards Laporte , another player in this game whose future is uncertain volleyed home.

Laporte's late goal proves to be the difference.

Bayern Munich captain Joshua Kimmich confessed that Man City are the finest team in Europe right now ahead of their pre-season meeting in Tokyo. The bad news is that it might continue like this for a long time.

"Man City has not only reaped the benefits of years of tireless hard work behind the scenes, but they have also sown the seed for future success to follow as well."

A lot has been made of the roughly £200m City have earned  from academy sales in the last five years, though just as impressive are those super-talented starlets who have somehow managed to force  their way into regular first-team involvement.

In the end, City had a good run, with two victories from two in Tokyo.

McAtee and Laporte with the goals, but it was Rico Lewis and Maximo Perrone who had the more eye-catching performances, among others.

The defence for Bayern's goal was poor, and Nathan Ake limped off, but Guardiola will be delighted with the overall performance.

Bayern Munich will be facing Kawasaki Frontale of the J.League whilst Man City will make a relatively short trip to South Korea to take on Atletico Madrid next weekend.
